2020 Lookbook Photo Shoot

March 8, 2021

One of our favorite days out of the entire year is our lookbook photoshoot day! We just love the planning and prepping along with all the hustle and bustle on the day of the shoot. It is such a fun way to show off our latest gowns while expressing our creativity. We typically stick to more traditional flowers, decor and gowns with a pop of color throughout, but for our 2020 shoot we wanted to challenge ourselves and do something totally different. That is when we decided we would tackle the bohemian bridal trend.

Once we decided to take the more bohemian direction, we jumped into planning starting with Pinterest. Who doesn’t love to scroll Pinterest for ideas and inspiration? We were excited to see some seriously stunning floral statement pieces and loose braided hairstyles in our search. Here are some photos we pinned of gowns we planned to showcase, hairstyles we wanted to mimic and floral pieces we loved.

We then reached out to an All Star team of vendors to collaborate with and started communicating our visions to each of them. We also have an All Star lineup of models. In previous years we’ve done model calls on social media and received great response from past brides and other local beauties. However, this year we used our gorgeous girls on staff to model our gowns. We could not wait to see our very own girls in the hair and makeup chairs and in our latest collections from our incredible designers!

Finally the day was here: Lookbook 2020! A day we all felt we desperately needed during the crazy times of the Coronavirus outbreak and after the two month long shelter in place order in Ohio. Each girl arrived one by one to our boutique to start hair and makeup with Taran with American Beauty Artistry and Ally with The I Do Updo. Once our models were finished with their boho transformations, they took off to our shoot location, White Birch Barn, where they were greeted with gorgeous floral creations by Molly Taylor & Co and our amazing photographer Renee with Renee Lemaire Photography. The entire Dress staff and team of vendors then got to work getting the girls dressed, accessorized and placed for some seriously gorgeous shots.

We could not be happier with how the photos turned out! Renee was great with directing the girls through every pose and capturing stunning scenes. White Birch Barn provided breathtaking landscapes that worked perfectly for what we wanted to achieve, and Bailey with Molly Taylor & Co. flawlessly placed floral creations in each shot. We are thrilled to share these images with you and are excited as we start planning our 2021 shoot!
